Dr. Misas received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from George Mason University.He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, and completed his Obstetric Gynecology Residency and Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at Penn State University School of Medicine, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He received his Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (1984) and Gynecologic Oncology (1990) from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Following his training, he directed Gynecologic Oncology divisions at the US Naval Hospital, San Diego and East Carolina University School of Medicine.

Dr. Misas returned to Central Pennsylvania in 1992, to develop a unique Gynecologic Oncology practice, with the goals of comprehensive service and compassionate care for women. Dr. Misas is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a full member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, an active member of the Society of Surgical Oncology and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists.
